Never use water that came straight from your tap.

4. Avoid Sudden Air Pressure Changes

Sudden sinus-pressure changes can occur from activities such as diving and flying. Air can become trapped in your sinuses during sudden pressure changes, and this can lead to congestion, pressure, and pain. If you need to fly, try to avoid flying while you are congested, and if approved by your doctor, take a nasal decongestant spray before you fly.

5. Get a Handle on Your Allergies

Allergens and sinus pressure/congestion go hand in hand, and a good way to diminish these problems is to get a handle on your allergies. Allergens such as pollen, dust, pet dander, and mold can all lead to sinus problems, so take the necessary steps to limit your exposure to these common culprits. Taking small steps like keeping the windows closed and using the air conditioner can make the world of difference.
